India New Zealand depart for Jaipur

Team India and New Zealand left for the Pink City Jaipur from Guwahati Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International airport amid tight security this afternoon. Jaipur is set to host the second match of the India Vs New Zealand day-night series from December 1 tomorrow.

Sreesanth, Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh paid a quick visit to the ancient Kamakya temple atop Nilachal Hills at Guwahati, drawing crowds of people from the neighborhood.Fans had also gathered at the airport to have a look of the sporting stars.

Meanwhile India, on Sunday secured a 1-0 lead in the ongoing Airtel One Day International series beating the Kiwis by 40 runs in the series opener in the Nehru stadium.

India rout New Zealand to clinch Series

India defeated New Zealand by a massive innings & 198 runs in the third and final Test on Tuesday today at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur to claim the series 1-0.

Off Spinner Harbhajan Singh, Pragyan Ojha and Suresh Raina took seven wickets jointly while fast bowler Ishant Sharma, setting the platform for victory, bowled out the Kiwis for 175 soon after the second session started on the concluding day of the match.

Rahul Dravid was declared the man of the match for his fine knock of 191 while Harbhajan Singh was awarded the man of the series title for his terrific all round performance.

Apart from being India's third-biggest win ever in a Test series, this is also India’s second win against New Zealand in the last 45 years, on home soil.

Bhajji praised by BIG B

Indian off spinner Bhajji has been extolled by film superstar Amitabh Bachchan for smacking two consecutive tons in the currently going on Tests against New Zealand.

Amitabh Bachchan posted on his blog that Harbhajan Singh did a remarkable job on the field by scoring the two centuries which have given India a satisfactory position in the series. He further wrote that Turbanator Bhajji the one who is supposed to bowl and is the nominated wicket taker, performed the jobs of both batting & bowling very fine and that this has acquired him pertinence to his position in the team. In fact now whenever he may come out, the expectations will drive him to deliver.

Mr Bachchan also mentioned that he sends his well wishes to the player as often as possible and especially every time he performs well. Bhajji too, he said, always remembers to appreciate the greetings.

Harbhajan has become the 1st number eight player to score two successive centuries in Tests. He struck his first ever Test century in the first Test against New Zealand at Ahmedabad (115) and further amassed an unbeaten 111 on the fourth day of the second Test at Hyderabad.

The pitch was rather dull on the second day of the second test match against New Zealand.

Electing to bat first, the Kiwis made 350 runs. As per the experts the pitch was totally biased towards the batsmen as against the fast bowlers.

Indians are predicted to manage a big score at the flat wicket. Dhoni gave the fast bowlers an extended spell while Gautam Gambhir was playing on 9 runs and Virendra Sehwag on the score of 2 runs.

The score at tea: India 62 for no loss.

India faced New Zealand at a new venue yesterday, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, followed by an unresisting draw at the Sardar Patel Stadium Ahmedabad, earlier this week.New Zealand opted to bat first after winning the toss again for the 11th time in the last 12 Tests. India has won the toss only once in this series.

India's team remained unchanged while New Zealand replaced 3 players with Bret Arnel, Martin Guptill and Tim Southee.The biggest concern for the Kiwis is want of stability at the top order. As for the Tigers, there may not be enough support from the tourists in the series.

At the tea, New Zealand had scored 159 runs after losing two wickets. But they had lost their first wicket at merely 4 runs. After 56 overs New Zealand were playing at 162 runs after losing two wickets.
